EV Charger Types We Carry
Portable EV Chargers
Portable chargers plug into a standard 3-pin UAE outlet. No installation, no DEWA approval needed. Power range: 3.6kW to 22kW. Charge overnight at home, take it to work, or bring it on road trips. Ideal for apartment residents, renters, or anyone who wants flexibility.
Entry-level models start at AED 499 (Oasisgalore 3.52kW Type 2). Mid-range options include the Mandzer 7kW Type 2 (AED 999) and Tesla Portable Charger 7kW (AED 1,399). For faster charging, the Mandzer 22kW Portable Type 2 (AED 1,499) delivers a full charge in 4-6 hours for most EVs.
Portable chargers work with any EV that has a compatible connector. Most support 8A to 32A current, adjustable via built-in controls. Weather protection ratings range from IP54 to IP65.
Wall-Mounted EV Chargers (Wallbox)
Wall chargers offer faster charging—7kW to 22kW—and are permanently installed in your garage or parking bay. Best for villa owners with dedicated parking and access to 3-phase power.
The Mandzer 22kW Wall Charger (AED 2,199) is our most popular wall unit for GCC Type 2 standard. For Tesla owners with USA NACS connectors, the Tesla 11kW Wall Charger (AED 2,899) delivers premium performance. The BYD GBT 7kW Wall Charger (AED 1,699) serves Chinese-standard EVs like the BYD Atto 3, Seal, and Han.
Wall chargers require installation by a licensed electrician and may need DEWA approval in Dubai. Installation costs typically range from AED 1,000 to AED 2,000, plus DEWA fees (approximately AED 500). Electrical panel upgrades, if needed, add AED 1,000 to AED 2,000.
EV Charging Cables
Charging cables (Type 2 to Type 2, Type 2 to 3-pin) are essential for public charging stations or as spares for home use. The Oasisgalore 5M Type 2 Cable (AED 699) supports up to 22kW charging. Cables range from 3m to 10m in length—choose longer cables if your parking bay is far from the power outlet.
Choose by Connector Type
Type 2 (GCC/European Standard)
Type 2 is the GCC standard for electric vehicles. Tesla Model 3 and Model Y (sold in UAE after 2023), MG ZS EV, Hyundai Ioniq 5, Kia EV6, Audi e-tron, and Mercedes EQC all use Type 2 connectors. DEWA public charging stations in Dubai use Type 2.
Charger House stocks 10+ Type 2 chargers, from the budget Oasisgalore 22kW Portable (AED 499) to the premium Mandzer 22kW Wall Charger (AED 2,199). Type 2 chargers support single-phase (7kW) and three-phase (11kW to 22kW) power.
GBT (Chinese Standard)
BYD vehicles (Atto 3, Seal, Han, Dolphin) use the Chinese GBT connector. Some MG models also support GBT. Charger House carries GBT-specific chargers: the Mandzer Portable 7kW GBT (AED 899), Portable 11kW GBT (AED 1,299), Portable 22kW GBT (AED 1,499), and Wall BYD 7kW GBT (AED 1,699).
GBT chargers work only with GBT-equipped vehicles. If you drive a BYD and have a Type 2 charger, use an adapter (check with your vehicle dealer for compatibility).
NACS (Tesla USA Standard)
Tesla vehicles sold in the USA before 2023 use the NACS (North American Charging Standard) connector. Tesla Model S, Model X, Model 3, and Model Y (USA imports) require NACS chargers.
The EV FOR LESS Portable 7kW NACS (AED 949) is our entry option. The Tesla Portable 7kW NACS (AED 1,599) and Tesla Wall 11kW NACS (AED 2,899) are official Tesla-compatible units. Tesla vehicles sold in UAE and GCC markets after 2023 use Type 2, not NACS.
Type 1 (J1772 - USA/Korea Standard)
Nissan Leaf and older Kia/Hyundai EVs (pre-2020) use Type 1 (J1772) connectors. The Mandzer Portable 7kW Type 1 (AED 999) supports Type 1 vehicles. Type 1 is less common in the UAE—most new EVs have switched to Type 2 or GBT.
| Connector Type | Common Vehicles (UAE Market) | Charger House Products |
|---|---|---|
| Type 2 (GCC) | Tesla Model 3/Y (2023+), MG ZS EV, Hyundai Ioniq, Kia EV6, Audi e-tron | 10+ models (AED 499–2,199) |

Choose by Power Rating
3.6kW to 7kW (Home Basic)
7kW chargers are the most common for home use. They work with single-phase power (standard in most UAE homes). A 7kW charger delivers approximately 30-35km of range per hour of charging. For a 60kWh battery (typical mid-size EV), expect 8-10 hours for a full charge overnight.
7kW chargers at Charger House: Mandzer Portable 7kW Type 2 (AED 999), Mandzer Portable 7kW GBT (AED 899), Tesla Portable 7kW Type 2 (AED 1,399), EV FOR LESS Portable 7kW NACS (AED 949).
The Tesla Portable 3.6kW Type 2 (AED 1,249) is slower but works in homes with limited electrical capacity.
11kW (Home Standard)
11kW chargers require single-phase or three-phase power, depending on the model. They deliver approximately 60km of range per hour. For a 60kWh battery, charging takes 5-6 hours. 11kW is ideal for daily drivers who want faster overnight charging without upgrading to 22kW.
11kW options: Portable 11kW GBT (AED 1,299), Portable 11kW Type 2 (AED 1,299), Tesla Wall 11kW NACS (AED 2,899).
22kW (Fast Home/Commercial)
22kW chargers deliver the fastest AC charging—approximately 120km of range per hour. For a 60kWh battery, charging takes 3-4 hours. 22kW chargers require three-phase power, common in villas and commercial properties. Single-phase homes cannot support 22kW—the charger will throttle down to 7kW.
22kW chargers: Oasisgalore Portable 22kW Type 2 (AED 499), Mandzer Portable 22kW Type 2 (AED 1,499), Mandzer Portable 22kW GBT (AED 1,499), Mandzer Wall 22kW Type 2 (AED 2,199).
| Power Rating | Charging Speed (60kWh Battery) | Electrical Requirement | Best For | Price Range |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 3.6-7kW | 8-10 hours | Single-phase (standard homes) | Apartments, overnight charging, budget buyers | AED 499–1,399 |
| 11kW | 5-6 hours | Single-phase or three-phase | Daily drivers, faster overnight charging | AED 1,249–2,899 |
| 22kW | 3-4 hours | Three-phase (villas, commercial) | Villas, large EVs, commercial fleets | AED 499–2,199 |

Frequently Asked Questions
How long does it take to charge an EV at home in Dubai?
Charging time depends on your charger's power rating and your EV's battery size. A 7kW charger takes 8-10 hours to fully charge a 60kWh battery (typical mid-size EV like Tesla Model 3 or BYD Atto 3). An 11kW charger reduces this to 5-6 hours. A 22kW charger completes the job in 3-4 hours. Most UAE EV owners charge overnight with a 7kW or 11kW portable or wall charger.
What is the difference between Type 2 and GBT chargers?
Type 2 is the GCC and European standard, used by Tesla (2023+ models), MG, Hyundai, Kia, Audi, and Mercedes EVs sold in UAE. GBT is the Chinese standard, used by BYD vehicles (Atto 3, Seal, Han, Dolphin). Type 2 chargers do not work with GBT vehicles unless you use an adapter. GBT chargers only work with GBT-equipped vehicles. Check your vehicle's connector type before purchasing.
Can I install an EV charger in my Dubai apartment?
Portable EV chargers (3.6-22kW) plug into standard 3-pin outlets—no installation needed. If your apartment parking bay has a power outlet, you can charge immediately. Wall-mounted chargers (7-22kW) require permanent installation, landlord approval, and DEWA permits. Most apartment residents choose portable chargers for convenience. Charger House stocks portable chargers from AED 499.
What power rating do I need for my EV?
For daily commuting (under 100km/day), a 7kW charger is sufficient for overnight charging. For larger EVs (80kWh+ batteries like Tesla Model S/X) or frequent long-distance driving, consider an 11kW or 22kW charger. 22kW chargers require three-phase power—common in villas but rare in apartments. Check your electrical panel capacity with a licensed electrician before purchasing.
Are Charger House EV chargers DEWA-approved?
All Charger House EV chargers comply with UAE electrical standards. Wall-mounted chargers (7-22kW) require DEWA approval in Dubai—the electrician who installs your charger submits the application (approximately AED 500 fee, 2-4 weeks processing). Portable chargers (3.6-22kW) plugged into existing outlets do not require DEWA approval. For DEWA compliance questions, contact DEWA directly at dewa.gov.ae or call their customer service.
Do you offer EV charger installation?
Charger House specializes in selling EV chargers and charging cables. We do not offer installation services. For wall-mounted charger installation (7-22kW), consult a licensed electrician familiar with 3-phase power installations and UAE electrical codes. Portable chargers can be used immediately with compatible outlets—no installation needed. Visit our Dubai (Greens) or Sharjah (Well Technology Mall) showrooms for product guidance and technical specifications.
What is the warranty on EV chargers?
Warranty terms vary by manufacturer. Contact Charger House at +971 55 552 4951 (Dubai) or +971 50 216 2624 (Sharjah) for warranty details on specific models. All products sold at Charger House are genuine OEM equipment—original manufacturer quality, not third-party replicas.
Can I use a portable EV charger for daily charging?
Yes. Portable EV chargers (7-22kW) are designed for daily use. They offer the same safety features as wall-mounted chargers—overcurrent protection, overheating protection, and weather resistance (IP54 to IP65 ratings). The advantage: portability. Use it at home overnight, take it to work, or bring it on trips. Most UAE EV owners who rent apartments or villas rely on portable chargers as their primary charging solution.
