Lenovo is one of the most widely used laptop brands across the UAE, powering everything from government offices in Abu Dhabi and corporate towers in Dubai Internet City to university campuses in Sharjah and gaming setups in Ajman. With such a huge installed base, demand for replacement Lenovo chargers is constant — and confusing. Lenovo has used at least three different connector types over the past decade, and wattage requirements range from a modest 45W for a Chromebook to a ground-shaking 300W brick for a Legion gaming laptop.
At Charger House, we stock original and genuine Lenovo chargers for every series currently in circulation across the Emirates: ThinkPad, IdeaPad, ThinkBook, Yoga, Legion, and Chromebook. Whether you need a slim-tip 65W for your office ThinkPad T14, a USB-C PD adapter for a new Yoga Slim, or a 230W Legion brick for weekend esports, we carry it in Bur Dubai with same-day delivery across Dubai, Sharjah, Abu Dhabi, and Ajman. This guide walks you through every connector, every wattage, and every series — so you order the right charger the first time.

Lenovo laptops sold in the UAE use one of three connector types. Identifying yours correctly is the single most important step when buying a replacement.
The original Lenovo proprietary connector — a yellow plastic rectangular plug with a USB-style shape. Found on older ThinkPad and IdeaPad models roughly from 2011 to 2015 (ThinkPad T420, T430, T530, X220, X230, L420; IdeaPad Y-series and Z-series). Lenovo has discontinued this connector on new laptops, but thousands of these units are still in active use across UAE offices and universities. We stock original 65W, 90W, and 135W square-tip chargers for these legacy machines.
Introduced in 2013 and still used on many ThinkPad, ThinkBook, and Legion gaming laptops today. It is a small round barrel with a tiny pin in the centre, much slimmer than the old square tip. Slim-tip chargers come in 45W, 65W, 90W, 135W, 170W, 230W, and 300W ratings — all using the same physical connector, which makes wattage matching critical. A 65W slim-tip will physically fit a Legion laptop, but it will under-power it and can trigger "slow charging" warnings or shut down the GPU.
The modern standard. Every ThinkPad released since 2018 (T480 onwards, X1 Carbon Gen 6+), every Yoga Slim, most IdeaPad 5/Flex models, and all current Chromebooks charge via USB-C PD. Wattages commonly used in Lenovo USB-C chargers: 45W, 65W, 95W, 100W, and 140W (the 140W uses USB-C PD 3.1 Extended Power Range). Always match or exceed the wattage printed on your original brick.
ThinkPad is Lenovo's flagship business line — and the single most common laptop in UAE corporate and government fleets. Here is how the six sub-families break down by charger need:
Legion is Lenovo's gaming sub-brand, and in the UAE it is the most popular gaming laptop family among students at AUD, HBMSU, and Heriot-Watt, plus competitive players in Dubai and Abu Dhabi gaming cafes. Legion laptops have the highest power draw in the Lenovo lineup because they combine H-series Intel/AMD CPUs with RTX discrete graphics.
Critical warning for gamers in the UAE: never run a Legion laptop on a 135W or 170W charger just because the connector fits. The system will either refuse to enter performance mode, throttle the GPU clock down by 30–50%, or drain the battery even while plugged in during intense sessions. Always match the original wattage exactly. We stock genuine Lenovo 230W and 300W Legion bricks at Charger House Bur Dubai with same-day delivery across the Emirates.
Every Lenovo charger sold at Charger House is labelled clearly as one of two categories:
Genuine Lenovo (OEM): Manufactured by Lenovo or their authorized ODM partners (Chicony, Delta, Liteon). Carries the Lenovo logo, FRU part number, and full 12-month warranty. Includes proper ID-chip handshake with the laptop — meaning the BIOS recognizes it as an authentic charger and enables full performance mode. Recommended for ThinkPad T/X/P series, Legion gaming, and any laptop under corporate warranty.
High-Quality Compatible: Third-party chargers built to identical electrical specifications, tested against UAE mains (220–240V, 50Hz), with matching connectors and wattage. Significantly cheaper than OEM. Suitable for older IdeaPad models, out-of-warranty laptops, and secondary/backup chargers. We back these with a 6-month Charger House warranty.
What we never sell: unbranded bricks from the grey market, counterfeit Lenovo-logo chargers, or under-rated units marketed as higher wattage. Every charger on our shelf is tested on a load bench before it leaves Bur Dubai.
1. Can I use a 65W charger on my Legion 5?
Physically yes — the slim-tip fits. Functionally no. The laptop will display a "slow charger detected" warning, cap GPU power, and may still drain the battery during gaming. Always use 230W or the wattage printed on your original brick.
2. Will a USB-C phone charger work on my ThinkPad?
Only if it delivers at least 45W via USB-C PD and has an E-marked cable. A standard 20W phone charger will not power a ThinkPad — it may trickle-charge the battery when the laptop is off, but Windows will show "plugged in, not charging" while in use.
3. What is the difference between slim-tip and square-tip chargers?
Square-tip (yellow rectangular) was used on ThinkPads from 2011–2015. Slim-tip (small round with pin) replaced it and is still used today. They are physically incompatible — do not try to force one into the other port.
4. Is it safe to use my Lenovo charger in the UAE without a voltage converter?
Yes. All modern Lenovo chargers are rated 100–240V 50/60Hz and work natively on UAE mains (220–240V). You only need a UK-style 3-pin plug or a BS 1363 adapter, both of which we include free.
5. How do I find the correct wattage for my Lenovo laptop?
Flip your original charger over and read the "Output" line. It will say something like "20V — 3.25A = 65W" or "20V — 6.75A = 135W". Match wattage exactly or go higher (never lower).
6. Do you deliver Lenovo chargers the same day in Dubai and Sharjah?
Yes. Orders placed before 4pm are delivered same-day across Dubai, Sharjah, and Ajman. Abu Dhabi and Al Ain orders placed before 2pm ship same-day and arrive the next morning. Northern Emirates (RAK, Fujairah, UAQ) ship next-day.
7. My ThinkPad says "the AC adapter wattage and type cannot be determined" — what does that mean?
This is a BIOS warning that the ID chip in the charger is not recognized. It usually means the charger is a cheap counterfeit or a damaged OEM unit. The laptop may still charge but at reduced speed or refuse to boost the CPU/GPU. Bring it to Charger House for a free diagnostic — we will test the charger on our load bench and replace it if needed.
