The charger your MacBook needs depends on its connector and its wattage. MagSafe 1 fits MacBooks up to 2012, MagSafe 2 fits 2012–2017 models, and every MacBook from 2016 onward charges over USB-C, including the newer models with a MagSafe 3 port. A higher-wattage Apple charger is safe on a smaller MacBook: the laptop only draws what it needs. Our MacBook chargers in the UAE cost AED 65 to AED 275.
Which connector does your MacBook use?
| Connector | Looks like | Used on | What we stock (price on 26 Oct 2026) |
|---|---|---|---|
| MagSafe 1 | Magnetic plug, T-shaped (earlier) or L-shaped (later) | MacBook, MacBook Pro and early MacBook Air, up to 2012 | L-tip 45W AED 65 · L-tip 60W AED 85 |
| MagSafe 2 | Thinner, wider magnetic T-plug | MacBook Air 2012–2017, Retina MacBook Pro 2012–2015 | 45W AED 75 · 60W AED 115 · 85W AED 135 |
| USB-C | Oval, reversible | 12-inch MacBook (2015) and every MacBook Air and Pro from 2016 | 45W AED 85 · 65W AED 125 · 87W AED 145 · 96W AED 175 · 140W AED 275 |
| MagSafe 3 | Flat magnetic plug on a braided cable | 14- and 16-inch MacBook Pro (2021 on), MacBook Air from M2 (2022 on) | Charges from our USB-C adapters through the USB-C ports |
MagSafe 1 and MagSafe 2 do not fit each other without Apple's MagSafe to MagSafe 2 converter. MagSafe 3 models also have USB-C ports, so a USB-C power adapter charges them through a USB-C cable.
Which wattage do you need?
Apple's own adapters, by model:
- MacBook Air: 30W to 70W, depending on the model. M2 and M3 Air models charge faster with a 67W or 70W adapter.
- 13-inch MacBook Pro: 61W (2016–2020 Intel and M1) or 67W (M2).
- 14-inch MacBook Pro: 67W to 96W, depending on the chip.
- 16-inch MacBook Pro: 140W for full-speed charging; the 2019 Intel model uses 96W.
- MagSafe 2 era: 45W for MacBook Air, 60W for 13-inch Pro, 85W for 15-inch Pro.
Too low and the MacBook charges slowly, or drains while you work. Higher is fine: a 96W adapter on a MacBook Air simply charges it at the Air's own rate. Source: Apple Support, "Use a power adapter with your Mac".
How to identify your MacBook
- Click the Apple menu → About This Mac and note the model name and year (or chip: M1, M2, M3).
- Match the year to the table above.
- Still unsure? Look at the charging port. A magnetic port is MagSafe; an oval port is USB-C. Or send a photo of your MacBook's underside, showing the model number, on WhatsApp (+971 55 552 4951) and we will match the charger.
Original or replacement?
We sell original and replacement MacBook chargers. If you are unsure which a product is, ask us before you order. A charger that is much lighter than the original, has blurry printing, or gets very hot is worth replacing. Our guide to spotting fake laptop chargers explains what to check.
Frequently asked questions
Can I use a 96W charger on my MacBook Air? Yes. The MacBook Air draws only what it needs, so a higher-wattage Apple USB-C charger is safe.
Will a 45W charger work on a 14-inch MacBook Pro? It may charge it slowly while asleep, but under load the battery can still drain. Use 67W or more.
Do MagSafe 2 chargers fit MagSafe 3 MacBooks? No. Use a USB-C adapter through the USB-C ports, or a USB-C to MagSafe 3 cable.
Do you sell the 140W adapter for the 16-inch MacBook Pro? Yes, the Apple Type-C 140W, at AED 275 on 26 October 2026.
