Frequently Asked Questions

Does the Dell D6000 work with my HP/Lenovo/Mac laptop?

Yes. The D6000 is a universal dock compatible with any laptop brand with USB-C or USB-A 3.0 (HP EliteBook/ProBook, Lenovo ThinkPad, MacBook Pro/Air 2016+, ASUS, Acer). Install free DisplayLink drivers from displaylink.com (auto-installs on Windows/macOS), connect via USB-C or the included USB-A adapter, and it's ready.

Can I connect 3 monitors to the D6000?

Yes. The D6000 supports up to three 4K displays (2× DisplayPort 1.2 + 1× HDMI 2.0), or a single 5K display. DisplayLink lets it run multiple displays even on laptops that natively support only one or two.

Do I need to install drivers for the D6000?

Yes. The D6000 requires DisplayLink drivers. Windows 10/11 and macOS auto-install via Windows Update or system updates. If not, download free from displaylink.com/downloads (2-3 minutes). Once installed, the dock works automatically. Chrome OS auto-installs; Linux requires manual installation.

Is the Dell D6000 new or pre-owned?

Neither: it is open box. That means excellent condition with no wear, though it may come without the original packaging or not sealed. The WD19S (AED 199) and WD22TB4 (AED 225) docks we sell are pre-owned.

Will the D6000 charge my laptop?

Yes. The D6000 provides 65W Power Delivery, sufficient for most ultrabooks and business laptops (Dell Latitude 13/14, HP EliteBook 13/14, ThinkPad X1/T-series, MacBook Air/Pro 13"). NOT sufficient for high-performance laptops requiring 90W+ (Dell XPS 15/17, gaming laptops, MacBook Pro 16"). Use your laptop's original charger alongside the D6000 if needed.
